claymation is a type of animation that has been around quite a while (since the early 1900′s) and continues to be a laborious form of animation today. to create a 30 minute film, you would need around 216,000 frames, running 24 frames per second. most times two frames of each still are taken, this is called “double framing.” there are several types of claymation including freeform claymation, strata-cut animation and clay painting. this video below is an example of clay painting.
